Australian National Championships

Currenly happening this week is the Australian national athletics Championships. Set to span accross five days starting on the afternoon of Sunday the 26th to the 2nd of April. Competing at this event is PNG’s Toea Wisil and Nazmie-Lee Marai. This competition will be host to many amazing athletes as well as amazing para-athletes. New Zealand Mountain Running champions

Last weekend was the 2017 New Zealand Mountain Running champions. Unlike the previous years the event did not need a course change due to the weather, it was set on the Ben Lomond course in Queenstown. The winner of the men’s 11.8km race was Jack Beaumont from Winton Athletics. Taking 1st in the women’s race was abrina Grogan of Hill City-University.

Track Resurfacing  in Saipan

Currently underway is the resurfacing of the 8 lane track in Saipan. According to the contractors the operation should be done by the middle of May. The new track will have the same red colour as before, however this new track will have a stricter set of rules so that it stays in good shape for the 2021 Pacific Mini games. More information here
