Starc Equals Australian and Oceania High Jump Record

Australian High Jumper Brandon Starc has equaled the Australian and Oceania High Jump record of 2.36m at a High Jump only competition in Germany. The record was set by Olympic bronze medalist Tim Forsyth in 1997.

This past season has been a very successful one for Starc. He won Gold in the High Jump at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games where he jumped a Personal best of 2.32m. He improved on this height at the recent Birmingham Diamond League meet, with a leap of 2.33m, edging closer to the record. Then yesterday he added another 3cm to his PB, clearing 2.36m on his second attempt at the Hochsprung Meeting in Eberstadt.

Starc will compete twice more this season, next at the IAAF Diamond League Final then again at the Continental Cup in Ostrava.
