57th ISPS Handa Halberg Awards: Nominees Announced
The Halberg Foundation has announced 70 nominations for six categories at the 57th ISPS Handa Halberg Awards. Named after Olympic champion Sir Murray Halberg (ONZ) the ISPS Handa Halberg Awards honour and celebrate New Zealand sporting excellence.

McSweyn claims Zatopek 10,000m victory in record time
Stewart McSweyn capped a hugely successful 2019 with a win at the annual Zatopek 10,000m in Melbourne on Saturday night (14), completing a hat-trick of victories in the classic race. The result also doubled as an Olympic qualifier and automatic nomination to the Olympic team as national champion.

Congratulations to newly elected OAA President Robin Sapong Eugenio of the Northern Mariana Islands
OAA Member Federations assembled today for a Special Congress to fulfil the role of Area President, a position previously held by Norfolk Island’s Geoff Gardner. The OAA Special Congress elected Robin to the position of Area President, effective immediately, until the next election in 2023.

25 Athletes and their coaches took part in a 3 day came in Wellington earlier this week
The camp focused on developing future performance and learning about the different building blocks that make up performance. Whilst having a good time!

Walk for Life
The last Walk for Life event for the year has been held in Palau over the week. The event was sponsored by Palau Pacific Resort in celebration of their 35th year anniversary.
The walk route started at the PPR post 2 (Tennis Court) and went to the President’s office in Meyuns and then back to finish at the beach.
