Daniel Golubovic and Taneille Crase have won the Oceania Combined Event Championships for 2021.
Both athletes showed their class, in excellent displays of athletics.
Crase, who had an excellent competition. The Australian Champion has been on the rise, and with the guidance of Glynis Nunn, she performed above her best. With personal best coming in 5 of the 7 events, the win and a personal best Heptathlon score was inevitable. Her score of 5773 is a personal best by over 200 points.
Golubovic was similar to Crase in his performance. Like Crase, he came off an impressive performance in Townsville in the middle of the year, where he broke 8000 points for the first time. However, his performance at QSAC went up another level. Right from the 100m, where he PB’d into a slight head wind. He would PB 6 out of the 10 events across the weekend, and end up agonisingly close to a World Championships Automatic Qualification.
His score of 8336, puts him 5th all time within Oceania, and now has multiple 8000 point performances.
