After a 7-year wait, Christchurch will once again have an athletics track. The long awaited rebuild is a relief for many track and field athletes and will be a part of the Nga Puna Wai Sports Hub.
The track was destroyed in the earthquake that hit Christchurch in February 2011.
Nga Puna Wai Sports Hub which will combine facilities for four sports – athletics, hockey, tennis, rugby league and community sports – on a 32-hectare section.
