Brisbane to Host 2027 Oceania Athletics Combined Events and Pole Vault Championships

Oceania Athletics Association is pleased to announce the 2027 Oceania Combined Events and Pole Vault Championships will be held at the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre in Brisbane from 8 to 10 January 2027.

Set to take place in the host city of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the championships will bring together Oceania’s leading Under 18, Under 20 and Open athletes in both combined events and pole vault.

The event will provide an important opportunity for Oceania athletes to compete at international level as they build towards major championships in 2027 and beyond.

For Open athletes, the championships also present a significant rankings opportunity, with the meet offering the highest level of competition bonus points available within the Oceania Area. Those points will be particularly valuable in a World Athletics Championships year, where world ranking positions can play a critical role in qualification.

Oceania Athletics Development Co-ordinator Anthony Curry said. “It’s exciting to bring these two events to the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre in Brisbane, the host city for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. These championship events will be held alongside the Queensland Athletics Combined Events Championships from the 8th-10th January 2027. We thank both Queensland Athletics and Australian Athletics for their support.”

The championships are expected to attract many of Oceania’s top emerging and established athletes, with the event forming a key part of the pathway towards international competition across the 2027 season.

Further entry details and event information will be released following the Oceania Athletics Championships 2026 in Darwin.
