Sally Pearson nominated for IAAF Awards

Recently World Champion Sally Pearson has made an extraordinary comeback to claim her second world 100m hurdles title in London in August solidifying her place in Australian sporting history. Because of this Sally Pearson has been named as one of ten female finalists in the 2017 IAAF World Athlete of the Year Awards. Support Sally and vote for her on Facebook.

Fiji holds Events For Mental Health Day

This year 2 different PSP sports came together to celebrate World Mental Health Day on the 10th of October. Fiji Table Tennis Association had invited Athletics Fiji along to their event at My Suva Park to join the celebration. Athletics Fiji happily set up a Kids’ Athletics Field and made sure to include young and old in the fun activities.

Four Aussies finish top ten at Chicago Marathon

  • Australian Paralympic Athlete Kurt Fearnley has finished second in the Chicago Marathon’s wheelchair category for a second year, finishing with a time of 1 hour, 30 minutes and 24 seconds.
  • Fellow Australian Madison de Rozario finished fourth in the women’s wheelchair race, setting a huge personal best time of 1:39.22,
  • Lisa Weightman sixth in the women’s event with a time of 2:28.45.
  • In the elite runners category, Australia’s Commonwealth Games gold medallist Michael Shelley finished 10th in a time of 2:12.52

 

Congratulation Valerie Adams

The shot put champion and her partner Gabriel Price welcomed baby girl Kimoana Josephine Adams-Price into the world on the morning of the 11th of October. Valerie tweeted “Never knew a luh luh luh a love like this.”
