New Zealand: 

Wellington College have left their McEvedy Shield rivals in the dust after their amazing victory. Their total points tallied at 238 at Newtown Park on Tuesday, and may have been the most since Rongotai College set the points record of 273.5 in 1989. With a 95 point gap between first and second place it was a great day to be a part of the wellington team. The see the video of the competitions four way haka click HERE


Promising young distance runner Jeremiah Shavneel Singh has had a successful Shop and Save Grand Prix series, finishing second behind Avikash Lal in the 5000m, bettering his Personals Best along the way. The distance runner is now in hard training leading up to the Oceania Championships, held in his home town of Suva. See HERE to learn more about Jeremiah.


This weekend athletics Australia is hosting the #SUMMERofATHS Grand Prix in Canberra. There will be an amazing selection of athletes competing, who are chasing qualifying standards and form ahead of the Australian National Championships later this month.

The meet includes several world-class match-ups across the weekend, such as local sprinter and 100m national record holder Melissa Breen against PNG olympian Toea Wisil.  In the 100m hurdles former Olympic Champion Sally Pearson will test her form after her comeback from injury, she will be racing against Michelle Jenneke and the in-form Brianna Beahan.

Anticipation continues to build as everyone is looking forward to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games with nominations are now open for thousands of local legends to carry the Queen’s Baton Relay. For more information click  here

Papua New Guinea:

Poro Gahekave had an exceptional weekend competing for South Plains College at the National Junior College Indoor Track and Field Championships in Pittsburgh, Kansas. The 23 year old middle/long distance runner had a tough line up with five races in two days but due to her hard work that she has put in during recent months she was able to cope.
