Oceania Athletics will be hosting the Oceania Area Athletics Championships in 2024.
OAA intends to hold the Championships in the Pacific in the May/June timeframe. The dates will be confirmed when the Venue is confirmed. There has been a shortage of International Standard Athletics Facilities in the Pacific over the past few years and OAA has been working with three (3) Federations who are building or resurfacing facilities to host the Championships in 2024. We are still working through the logistics with the potential Host Venues and Local Organising Committees.
There will be a Continental Tour competition held prior to the competition, at the Host Venue. The final level of that competition will be announced alongside the Championships.
The Area Championships will be held over 5 days, with the best efforts to host the Senior Championships events within the first three (3) days of the program.
Member Federations will be able to enter up to a maximum of three (3) athletes per championships event. Each Member Federation will receive a financial quota based on attendance and performance at previous Oceania events.
