PNG National Track and Field Championships

Oceania President and IAAF Council Member Geoff Gardner will visit the National Sports Institute in Goroka, PNG later this month on the occasion of the 56th National Track and Field Championships. Oceania Athletics Executive Director Yvonne Mullins with Geoff Gardner will travel to Goroka where they will run TOECS refresher training for Technical Officials prior to the Championships.

Philip Kamane (Chairman of the Local Organising Committee) reminded all intending participants that the deadline for entries and payment of fees is 20 September. Athletics PNG is firm on its stance that no last minute entries will be permitted.

New Athletics Australia CEO

On Monday the 4th of September Athletics Australia declared that Darren Gocher has been appointed Chief Executive, and will be starting in his new role immediately. Previously he was the CEO of Nitro Athletics. For more info click here

PSP Fiji

Athletics Fiji have signed an MOU with the Fiji National Sports Commission alongside the donation of a brand new Kids Athletics Kit. It is agreed that the organisations will work together on the further implementation of the Kids Athletics Program as part of the Pacific Sports Partnership with Oceania Athletics, which is funded by the Australian Government.

The agreement is one objective of the PSP Program, which focuses on the establishment of Athletics and Physical Activity in schools and communities as well as offering activities for people with disabilities. For more information click here
