For Elodie it’s not the first time at the Gold Coast Marathon. She has arrived at the Oceania House, Gold Coast yesterday for the fourth time since 2012. Ready to take on the Half Marathon distance of 21km she will be fighting for medals in the Oceania Half Marathon Championships.
Originally from France, Elodie moved to Tahiti with her family in 2000 and has been running around the island ever since. She has become an institution in long distance racing in the Pacific and is more motivated than ever. She is not the only runner in the family: Her son is holding several Polynesian records over 5km, 10km and 3000m Steeplechase.
After a tough year of combining work and training Elodie is aiming for a time under 1:29 hour over the Half Marathon distance. “I very much enjoy coming to the Gold Coast again, I have always experienced a warm welcome and of course the Gold Coast is an exciting place to visit. I am looking forward to the race on Sunday.”
We wish Elodie and all other competitors a great race!
