Entries Finalised for Oceania Athletics Championships as 800+ Athletes Head to Darwin

Final entry lists for the Oceania Athletics Championships in Darwin confirm 838 athletes from 20 Oceania Member and 2 Associate Member Federations, along with four international federations, set to compete.

Athletes will contest events across Under 16, Under 18, Under 20, Senior, Masters and Para categories, with a host of Paralympic, Commonwealth and global medallists reflecting the depth of athletics across Oceania.

“We look forward to celebrating outstanding performances on the track and creating a one-of-a-kind experience for athletes, officials and supporters alike,” said Marie-Clare Boothby, Minister for Tourism and Hospitality and Minister for Major Events, Northern Territory.

Among the entries, several athletes will be chasing a third consecutive Oceania Senior title, including ‘Ata Maama Tu’utafaiva (Tonga) in the women’s shot put, Mackenzie Little (Australia) in the women’s javelin, and Taryn Gollshewsky (Australia) in the women’s discus.

The championships also play an important role in qualification pathways and preparation for major international events. Athletes will be looking to secure performances and ranking points ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games, 2027 World Athletics Championships, 2027 World Para Athletics Championships, and 2026 World Masters Athletics Championships, while also building towards future Olympic and Paralympic campaigns.

Official start lists will be released following the technical meeting on 14 May.
