How many athletes per event?
In the Senior, U20, and u18 age groups, three (3) per Member Federation
I can't see Pole Vault and Combined Events on the timetable, where are they?
Pole Vault and Combined Events will not be included in the Oceania Athletics Championships 2026 in Darwin. These events will be contested at a event on a later date.
Who is my Member Federation?

What classification do I need to participate in the Para events?
A National Classification is all that is required for participation in Para Events the Oceania Athletics Championships in Darwin
Is there a minimum entry standard?
Yes.
For High Jump, Triple Jump, Steeplechase, Hammer Throw and Hurdle events, all athletes will need to
have met the entry standard in Championships events (Senior, U20, U18). For all events to be eligible for funding, the minimum standard must be met for all events.

What is the minimum age to compete?
Seniors: Minimum 16years of age
u20: Athletes born 2007,2008,2009
u18: athletes born 2011, 2010,2009
u16: athletes born 2011-2012
Para: Minimum 16years of age
Masters: Must be 30 years of Age as of 18th May 2026.
Are there medals for the u16?
Yes! Medal reveal soon.
Are there entry standards for the u16s?
No, except for High Jump, Triple Jump and Hurdles – standards on the entry link
Who is the u20 age group for?
Only for Pacific Island Member Federations
When will the Final Timetable be available?
Once the entries have closes in late April.
What is the date for the Age groups
U16, U18,U20, Senior, Para – taken as at 31 December 2026
Masters – as at the first day of competition – 18th May 2026
Equipment for Warm-up and Training
Athletes should provide their own equipment for warm up and training. Due to all the field events going on, equipment will be prioritised for competition
What are the uniform requirements?
U16, U20, Masters – any uniform as long as there are no big logos that breach the advertising guidelines set by World Athletics
U18, Open – Member Federation Uniform
Para – Member Federation uniform (if selected),
If not selected: any uniform as long as there are no big logos that breach the advertising guidelines
Safeguarding
As part of the Oceania Athletics Championships, we have a safeguarding plan that oversees the Championships. All athletes, coaches and referees that attend the Championships must complete the World Athletics Safeguarding course.
