Guam Hosts Largest Track & Field Championships.

The 2025 Guam National Track & Field Championships wrapped up in exciting fashion this past weekend, marking the largest edition of the event in history. Featuring on the World Athletics global calendar for the, the meet brought together athletes of all levels for a weekend of top-class performances and community celebration.

With the Pacific Mini Games in Palau just around the corner, the Championships served as a key preparation event for many of Guam’s elite athletes. The stakes were higher than ever, with cash prizes offered to event winners and exclusive event t-shirts designed by three-time Guam Olympian Regine Tugade.

The Open 100m finals were a major highlight. On the men’s side, Alex Na took top honours, followed closely by Noah Harris and Jan Almoite. In the women’s event, Regine Tugade showed her class to claim victory, ahead of Sydney Augustine and Samara Sison. Tugade not only dominated on the track but also added her creative touch to the Championships through the t-shirt design, making her impact felt both on and off the field.

Another standout of the meet was distance runner Hugh Kent, who returned from college in the U.S. to reclaim his spot at the top. A multiple national record holder across various distances, Kent powered through the field to win both the 1500m and 5000m.

The energy and turnout made it clear that the Championships have grown, not just in size but in significance. With more participants than ever before, increased prize offerings, and international recognition, Guam’s 2025 Championships proved to be a milestone moment—one that sets the stage perfectly for a strong performance at the Pacific Mini Games in Palau later this year.
