We are pleased to announce the opening of entries for the Oceania Athletics Masters Cup 2025, which will be held from October 29th to November 1st in Nuku’alofa, Tonga.

After being due to host the Oceania Polynesian Regional Championships before Covid hit, OAA are delighted to be bringing International Athletics back to the Kingdom of Tonga for the first time since 1998. Tonga has previously hosted the 1989 South Pacific Mini Games, and the 1998 Oceania U18 Athletics Championships at the newly resurfaced and renovated Teaufavia Stadium will once again host International Athletics.
Any athlete over the age of 30 is invited to compete in the Oceania Athletics Masters Cup, with 5-year age categories from 30, and the first three competitors in each age group will receive Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medal respectively.
Athletes will need to represent an eligible Member Federation to be eligible for the Oceania Athletics Masters Cup Medals. Invitational athletes, and athletes outside of Oceania will be able to compete in the Masters events but will only be eligible for Invitational Medals.
The Oceania Athletics Masters Cup will be presented to the best performing male and female athlete according to the age graded tables in the following categories.
Sprints / Hurdles 60, 100, 200, 400, Short Hurdles, Long Hurdles
Distance / Walks 800, 1500, 3000/5000, 3000/5000 Race Walk, Steeplechase, Cross Country
Throws Hammer, Shot, Javelin, Discus, Weight
Jumps and Multi Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault, Pentathlon
Oceania Athletics has removed the administration fee for masters’ athletes to make the competition more accessible for all to be able to enter. With the entry cost just 15 AUD per event entered.
Final Entries will close for international entries 1 month prior to the competition, with local entries taken to 1 week prior to the competition. Masters’ athletes will be required to enter individually online via the following link.

– Steeplechase will be confirmed in early 2025 on inspection of venue.
– Cross Country will only be conducted if there is significant interest. This will be finalised 3 months prior to the competition.
– The Throws Pentathlon will be conducted with the individual throwing event. The first three throws will count towards an athlete throws pentathlon score. If an athlete is only competing in the throw’s pentathlon, they will only
receive 3 throws. If competing in the individual throw’s events, they will receive 3 throws, and a further 3 if in the top 8 throwers.
– The 3000 and 5000 will be run concurrently, athletes will only be able to compete in one.
