Françoise Teriierooiterai presented with World Athletics Veterans Pin at the 2025 Oceania Congress
Presented by OAA President Robin Sapong-Eugenio and Helen Delaney from World Athletics amongst the delegates at the OAA Congress, Francois was recongised for her service to French Polynesia.
Françoise has been a dedicated member of the Federation d’Athletisme de polynesie francaise for many years, serving on the Council of PYF and contributing her time and expertise in various roles. Before joining the PYF Council, she represented the Federation as an athlete and also held the position of President of her athletic club, Tefana.
In 2007, Françoise served as Team Manager for PYF at the South Pacific Games in Samoa, and again in 2009 at the South Pacific Mini Games in the Cook Islands.
With over 30 years of experience as a Technical Official, Françoise remains actively involved in officiating at club-level competitions in Tahiti. She also contributes to Masters Athletics in Tahiti and continues to mentor and support athletes in her ongoing role as a coach within the Federation.
Her commitment to athletics extends beyond the national level. Françoise has represented PYF at numerous Oceania Athletics Association Congresses for more than 15 years and continues to be a strong advocate for athletics across the region. Notably, in 2012, she was a member of the Local Organising Committee when the Oceania Championships were hosted in Papeete, Tahiti.
In recognition of her outstanding service to the sport, Françoise was awarded the Oceania Athletics Association Merit Award in 2009. It is a fitting tribute to her lifelong dedication that she is now honoured with the World Athletics Veteran Pin.
