Over 2000 New Zealand Children participate in 2025 Colgate Games

The future is bright for New Zealand Athletics, with over 2200 children competing in the 2025 Colgate Games across two weekends in January. The annual event is a hallmark on the calendar for the next generation of athletics New Zealand aged 7-14years.
Spanning across two weekends, two location, and the two islands the Colgate Games is the largest Athletics competition for New Zealand’s youth. The competition established in 1978, attracts overseas competitors with Australia, and Pacific Athletes participating in the 2025 edition.
Athletics New Zealand’s representative stars were present throughout the competition, presenting medals and inspiring the next generation, including Hamish Kerr, Tom Walsh, Rosie Elliot, Nick Palmer, William Steadman and Tiaan Whelpton. The young athletes setting the tone for an exciting summer of athletics as the Continental Tour begins in New Zealand January 25.

The North Island Colgate Games – Tauranga
9th to the 11th of January
The South Island Games – Nelson
16th to the 18th of January.
