ON Track Nights: Zatopek: 10
Australian distance running descending upon Lakeside stadium for the Annual Zatopek:10. Now the recently the On Track Nights: Zatopek: 10, The Australian 10,000m Junior 3000m Championships and Community Running events were ON!
Cameron Myers lowered his own Oceania U20 Record to 7:41.11 in the Open 3000m taking line honours in a class Open Field. Jack Rayner takes back-to-back Australian 10,000m titles in a time of 28:26.12 to a cumulative 4 titles. Rose Davies wins the Women’s race in a thrilling back and forth throughout in a time 32:21.71 to take a total of 3 titles to her name. Sam Ruthe (NZL) continues his record-breaking streak, breaking the New Zealand U17 and U18 3000m Record in a time of 8:06.56.
Australian 35km Race Walk Championships
Albert Park continued to be a hub of athletics activity into early Sunday Morning for the Australian 35km Race Walk Championships. Olivia Sandery broke the Oceania 35km Race Walk Record in a time of 2:45:31 Rhydian Cowley continued to show his dominance over the 35km distance taking the title for the 3rd time in a row.
Federated States of Micronesia – Pohnpei and Chuuk Championship
Rainy conditions didn’t dampen spirits at the 2024 Pohnpei Open Track & Field Championships which saw athletes from Pohnpei and Chuuk come together in the Senior and U18 age groups. International athletes from Guam joined the competition. Athletics FSM Thanks including the FSM NOC, the Pohnpei State Government and everyone who contributed to the games.

New Zealand The Spectacle
New Zealand’s Running Community took to the hills, trails and streets of Nelson for “ The Spectacle”. Runners, spectators and the community took part in the celebration of running, including the Nelson Mayor taking part in the 5km. The eyes were on the elite Road mile headlined by New Zealand’s Sam Tanner. The mixed event saw Great Britain’s Neil Gourley win the race, Sam Tanner and Georgia Griffith (AUS) taking the minor placings.
Palau
Celebrating 30 years of diplomatic relations between Australia and Palau the Australian Embassy hosted a fun run with over 300 Participants. The weekend also marks 200 Days to go until the Pacific Mini Games Athletics Program begins.
Papua New Guinea
Adrine Monagi continues to show her excellence over the hurdles breaking the Papua New Guinea 60m Hurdles Short Track Record.
The current 100m Hurdles Running 8.45 in at the Brisbane Invitational, Monagi lowered the record by 0.01 seconds
