Australia: Australian 10,000m Championships – 14th December
10,000m Champs The Australian 10,000m Championships will take place at the ON Track Nights: Zatopek: 10. Lakeside Stadium will come to life as the Area Record Holder Jack Rayner leads the field in the Men’s 10,000m Championship. Lauren Ryan the Australian Record Holder leads a strong women’s field. The 3000m features some of Oceania’s fastest across the middle distances including Olympians Abby Caldwell and Linden Hall up against Amy Bunnage fresh off her Australian 5000m Short Track Record. Australian 35km Race Walk Championships – 15th December
Albert Park is known for hot laps and it will be Australia’s race walkers setting the pace. The Australian 35km Race Walk Championships will see Olympic Bronze Medallist on the start line in the Men’s event. Cowley, the Area Record holder already has his qualification time settled for the 2025 World Athletics Championships and will be chasing the title on Sunday. In the Women’s event it will be Paris Olympians Rebecca Henderson and Olivia Sandery fighting for the title. Henderson the Area Record Holder, like team mate Cowley has her qualification time locked in for the World Championships.
New Zealand: The Spectacle – 14th December
Nelson is the place to be for distance running this weekend for “The Spectacle” A weekend of running events from a 100 mile trail ultra, rounding out with the Road Mile. Olympian Sam Tanner headlines a line-up of New Zealand and Australia’s fastest, chasing the prize on offer. Australia’s Stewy McSweyn, and Georgia Griffith join international athletes Sophie O’Sullivan (IRL) and Neil Gourley (GBR) for the fast paced Mile through the heart of Nelsons CBD.

Federated States of Micronesia: 2024 Pohnpei Open Track & Field Championships
13-15th December
The 2024 Pohnpei Open Track & Field Championships will see athletes from Pohnpei and Chuuk come together in the Senior and U18 age groups. International athletes from Guam will also join the competition. With the World Indoor Championships, the next Major Championship on the calendar this event will be critical for deciding who will represent FSM at the Championships in the 60m.
