Fiji Throws Camp building Fiji’s throws talent

Fiji has a strong throws history recently with Leslie Copeland the 80m+ Javelin thrower. Within the past year Fiji’s para-athletes Naibili Vatunisolo and Selina Seau flew the flag at the 2024 Paralympics, medallists at the Pacific Games and Oceania Para Athletics Championships, and Oceania Record Holders. At the Pacific Games 2023, Deborah Bulai the National Record holder in the Hammer and Discus taking out the Pacific Games Hammer title.

Now the next generation are learning and growing in a collective effort run by The Pacific Wave, with collaboration from Athletics Fiji, and Marist Brothers High School.

70 Athletes and 10 coaches gathered at Marist Brothers High School, for sessions on each of the individual throws with a mini competition at the end of the camp. Unfortunately, inclement weather brought an early close to mini competition, with organisers thanking all those participated throughout.

Organisers thanked the Fiji Paralympic Committee for their participation in the camp and insight for the athletes and coaches present. Marist Brothers High School and Athletics Fiji thanked for their assistance in bringing the event together.
