Inaugural Ekiden Tahiti and Half Ekiden Unites over 900 Runners in Relay Marathon

Fédération d’Athlétisme de Polynésie Française (FAPF) successfully hosted the first-ever Ekiden Tahiti, bringing together over 900 participants for the teams event full of community spirit.
The legendary race format originating from Japan, took to the streets of French Polynesia, bringing together running enthusiasts and the community.
The event featured two main races: the Socredo Ekiden, a full marathon relay with six-person teams, and the Polynésienne des Eaux Half-Ekiden, a half-marathon relay with three-person teams.
The course, designed as a including Stade Bambridge, allowing spectators to engage closely with the runners along the waterfront.
Participants competed across various categories. Tahiti Ekiden wasn’t only about promoting physical fitness, but also raising money for local charity
