Entries Open for Oceania Athletics Championships 2026 – U16, Masters and Para categories
The Oceania Athletics Championships 2026 (18–23 May) heads to in Darwin, Australia. Oceania’s biggest athletics event brings the best together leading track and field athletes from across the Oceania Area. Competition includes Senior, Junior, Para, and Masters categories, bringing athletes of all ages, all abilities, all together. The competition serves as a prime opportunity for qualification to global events and development of athletics in the area.
Entries are now open for under 16, Masters and Para athletes.
Under 18, under 20 and Open age athletes will be selected by their respective Member Federations.
What sets the Championships apart is the shared championship environment. Athletes across age groups and classifications compete within the same event, on the same stage, and for the same medals. Para, Masters, Junior and Senior athletes are part of one unified championships, reflecting the inclusive nature of athletics across Oceania.
Eligibility criteria apply for each entry category. Under 16 athletes must be born in 2011 or 2012. Para athletes must be a minimum of 16 years of age. Masters athletes must be 30 years of age by 18 May 2026 to compete.
The OAA Competitions Manager, Tom O’Shaugnessy said the inclusive approach places the Championships in a unique position internationally.
“We are excited to be hosting an all-inclusive area championship. It’s the only one of its kind in the world, and for the first time we will have international classification for Para athletes alongside our Championships,” they said.
“Oceania Athletics has a long history of providing competition opportunities for athletes of all ages, and Darwin is the perfect location for everyone to compete for the same gold, silver and bronze medals.”
Oceania Athletics looks forward to welcoming athletes, officials and supporters to Darwin for six days of high quality, inclusive competition in the Northern Territory.
