The 2024 Oceania Masters Athletics Championships will be conducted in Suva, Fiji, with the Championships to run from Saturday 1st June until Saturday June 8th.
The National Stadium, HFC Stadium, will be the host venue, and is currently being relayed and new track surface to be finished by mid-April 2024.
Suva has previously hosted the Oceania Masters Championships in 1982 and 1994. It has also hosted the 1990 and 2017 Area Championships, 2016 Regional Championships, 2003 South Pacific Games. Fiji was due to host the Regional Championships in 2020, before being cancelled due to the pandemic.
The 2024 Edition will be held alongside the Area Championships for Senior, U18 and Para Athletes, making it a truly inclusive championships, something that is not replicated anywhere else in the world.
Fiji is the hub of the Pacific in many ways, and with 13 Oceania Federations having direct flight access into Fiji, and no Federation needing a Visa, it makes the logistics of the Championships smoother for all. It is hoped this will enable more athletes to attend the championships.
Fiji is located in the South Pacific Ocean and is a nature lover’s delight. Fiji has an unspoiled, unique environment of extreme beauty and tranquillity, making it a dream destination for couples, friends, and families looking to enjoy a tropical holiday together. From the mainland island of Viti Levu to the outer islands, there’s more beauty than you’ll be able to take in.
Whether you’re visiting for the beaches, the culture, the food, or all of the above, you’ll have plenty to enjoy. With over 300 islands and a population less than one million it is easy to enjoy this tropical paradise. Choose from one of of the fabulous Fiji hotels, swim with schools of colourful tropical fish, snorkel over giant rainbow gardens of soft coral, or scuba dive in the reef.
Fiji has lots of fun activities both on and off the water including sailing, white water rafting and golf. Bargain hunters will love a full day or half day shopping followed by a dinner of excellent fresh Pacific cuisine. A place to relax, unwind and rejuvenate, Fiji makes for the perfect tropical holiday, and we have Fiji accommodation options suitable for all tastes.
The Local Organising Committee has received funding to go towards the upgrade of the equipment as well to be used at the Oceania Championships. With Athletics Fiji hosting regular competitions at the National Stadium when not being resurfaced, the technical expertise and volunteer capacity is outstanding.

“As a senior member of the Athletics fraternity in Fiji and the region for the past 40 plus years. Hearing the Area Championships are in Fiji is a wonderful opportunity to promote Athletics in the islands. Having the Championships in Fiji, the hub of the Pacific, will allow for more athletes the opportunity to come to the Championships.”
