BSP PNG Games

On Monday the 20th of November marked the start of the BSP Papua New Guinea Games. The event has been funded by the Bank South Pacific and Turkai Industries. The games were run smoothly however the start of the competition was delayed by the rain. Live Results

Queens baton relay in Tuvalu

As of the 28th of November the Queens Baton Relay arrived in Tuvalu.
The relay in Tuvalu started at 8 am with a boat ride from QE II Park to the Amatuku Wharf where runners and children on the bikes waited for the baton to be brought to Vaiaku.

The Baton then traveled to Nauti Primary school, SDA Primary school, Fusi Alofa and then to the Trade Fair before it did a lap of  the Tuvalu Sports Ground, then went past the PM residence and then to government building before it finished at Funafuti Lagoon Hotel. The baton leaves Tuvalu on 30th November 2017 for PNG.

 

Kiribati Inter Primary Schools Championships

Kiribati Athletics Association held an Inter primary Schools competition on Friday, 24th November at Bairiki Track. There were 13 schools with more than 260 athletes involved in the competition, which included traditional athletics events as well as Kids Athletics. The teachers helped as Technical Officials. The event was organized by the Development Officers Kairao and Rabangaki who have worked in the schools over the past 10 months introducing and training athletics.

The Ministry of Education supported the activity with the Minister the Hon David Collins opening the event.
