There have been many exciting performances from our Oceania Area Athletes already in 2018, including the setting of three new Oceania Area Records.

New Zealand’s Eliza McCartney keeps rewriting the record books in the Women’s Pole Vault.  Eliza increased her own record at the Stabhochsprung Meet in Germany last week, when she vaulted a massive 4.94 metres.  Her jump is the highest outdoor jump in 2018 and places her at Number 3 on the All Time List.

Australian Joseph Deng has broken the long standing Australian Men’s 800m record, after almost 50 years.  The exciting athlete crossed the line at the Herculis Diamond League meet in Monaco, stopping the clock at 1.44.21.  This is a New Australian record and Oceania Area Record.

Inspired by Deng, Linden Hall of Australia has set a new Australian and Oceania Area Record in the Women’s Mile at the Anniversary Games in London.  Hall had set a goal to break the record at this meet and has done so in fine form, with a new record of 4.21.40.

These results are sure to boost all of our Oceania Athletes and we look forward to many more classy performances in the near future.
