Queens Baton Update

Since the 24th of December the Queens Baton has been bouncing all over the country. The Baton visited some of Australia’s national events such as the Australian Open Tennis on the 16th of January. The Queens Baton is currently on its way to the Adelaide Oval and will arrive on the 20th of January.

Oceania Athletics Executive Yvonne Mullins will carry the Baton a javelin’s throw away from the OAA office on the 3rd of April, the day before the Commonwealth Games begins.

Polynesie Francaise Country Championships

This Saturday PYF (Polynesie Francaise) is holding the 2018 French Polynesia Cross Country Championships in partnership with Olympian’s Sport and BYLIE. This event will take place on the 20th of January at the Vairai Park in Punaauia. The first races are scheduled to start in the morning.

Houston Half Marathon

Last Sunday Jake Robertson of New Zealand competed in a half marathon, however, did not break 60 minutes, but his reaction told otherwise. He finished the race with a time of 60.12 minutes equaling his previous PB. After crossing the finish line to win the 2018 Aramco Houston Half Marathon, the 28-year-old New Zealander pumped his fist, a fitting celebration based on the quality of field he had just overcome.

Today Oceania Athletics updated their website with a new calendar listing the Out of Stadia events held throughout the Oceania region.
