PNG’s Poro Gahekave had another great run in the Junior College Division One National Cross Country Championship run at the Prairie Trails Golf Course in Eldorado , Kansas last weekend.The PNG girl finished 22nd overall in a field of over 300 runners representing Junior Colleges from around the United States, with a time of 18minutes 50.88 seconds on the 5km course. The time was another big personal best for Gahekave following on from her 19min 36sec clocking at the Regional Championships two weeks earlier. The cross country season will conclude this coming weekend with the National Half Marathon Championships at Gulf Shores, Alabama where Gahekave will run her first race over this (21 km) distance as a member of her South Plains College (Texas) team.
