Maurie Plant, Mr Athletics, the much loved Australia agent, team manager, coach and broadcaster, passed away peacefully and painlessly in hospital over the weekend. Maurie was a great friend to Oceania Athletics and many of our athletes and coaches throughout the Region – he will be missed by all.
Maurie left behind a legacy which had a global impact. The outpouring of tributes, stories and memories attest to an incredible man who had a genuine love for Athletics.
