2017 NORTHERN FMF CHOW GAMES

Last Weekend Athletics Fiji accommodated up to 992 athletes from 11 districts as they all converged at Labasa’s Subrail Park for a competition that would last 2 days with the help of over 100 volunteers to run the competition. At the end of the weekend Seaqaqa finished their 2017 campaign with 16 gold, 7 silver and 9 bronze while Macuata North came in 2nd with 14 gold, 15 silver and 10 bronze. Labasa 2 finished 3rd with 13 gold, 10 silver and 11 bronze.

Queens Baton in Kiribati & the Cook Islands

Since the Queens Baton relay has entered the Oceania Region it has visited Nauru, Kiribati, Nuie, Cook Islands and as of today the baton has reached Tonga. Each country being excited to have the baton some people went as far as wear traditional outfits for the occasion.

 

Pacific Mini Games

With under a month left the biennial Pacific Mini Games will soon be under way with the entries closed all the federations have chosen their teams and all the entries are in with over 200 athletes of 17 Federations competing in the athletics at the games.

Kiribati Technical Meeting

This week Kiribati held a Technical Meeting on Tuesday at the stadium in preparations for the Inter Primary Schools Championships on 24th November. In the photo you can see teachers from all different Primary Schools attending a briefing.23600050_1375256732582987_1140322294_o

The Inter Primary Schools Championships haven’t been held for a while, the Development Officers Kairao and Rabangaki have been working together with schools and the Ministry of Education to get the Championships reinstated.
