2018 Oceania Athletics 20km Race Walking

Last weekend Athletics Australia hosted the 2018 Oceania 20km Race Walking Championships. Since then the results have been posted on the Athletics Australia website. Before the race many people had picked Dane Bird-Smith to be the winner however due to unforeseen circumstances, Dane Bird-Smith was not in peak condition. The winner of the 2018 Race Walking Championships was Perseus Karlstrom from Sweden with a time of 1:20:30s one second ahead of Marius Liukas and Yerko Cortes.  Bird-Smith was the first Australian across the line with Beki Smith the first female.  For full story click here.


 

RWJECS Course

Last week from the 8th to 11th of February OAA held a RWJECS (Runs Walks Judges Education Certification System) in Adelaide alongside the 2018 Oceania 20km Race Walking Championships. The course had every one pass and receive their certificate.

 

 

2018 Australian Athletics Championships

Today is the start of the 2018 Australian Athletics Championships which will be run from the 15th to the 18th. This championships will have a total of 123 events being competed in this weekend. Athletes from the OAA high performance centre will also be competing at the championships this weekend. You can find a link to the live stream and live results on the Athletics Australia website
