The Saipan Marathon 2017 will be the second Island Marathon to hold an IAAF-AIMS Course Measurement Certificate.
On Friday 3rd February AIMS Vice President and Technical Director Dave Cundy , Northern Marianas Athletics Secretary General Robin Sapong and Marianas Visitor Authority Community Projects Specialist Ed Diaz toured and measured the marathon course.
This means that the times that will be recorded in future marathons and other international long-distance events will be recognized by the International Association of Athletics Federation.
