IAAF TOECS Level II

Last week Oceania Athletics Association hosted an IAAF TOECS level II course. There were 20 people participating in this course. The main goal of this course was to provide the participants with the knowledge and skills to be an effective technical official who are qualified to be able to officiate at international competitions. This course also sets up the participant to be eligible to apply to be an ATO (Area Technical Official). Many of the participants will officiate at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in April and used this course as a refresher and upgrade.

 

IAAF CECS Level II MLD

Last week Oceania Athletics Association  held a CECS Level II Middle/Long Distance course with the aim of increasing the number of coaches with MLD qualifications within the Oceania area. During the course the participants gained knowledge and skill to benefit their coaching. The course went smoothly with all of the people participating, finishing with a passing grade.

 

PNG National Championships

Last Thursday was the start of the 56th PNG National Athletics Championship at the National Sports Institute in Goroka. The competition was a success with almost 500 athletes competing it was a great Competition. The Competition ran from the Thursday 28th of September to the Saturday 30th.
